Float Fit

Sport Aberdeen were the first in Scotland to host the hugely popular floatfit classes. The classes are based on use of the first responsive floating exercise matt - aquabase – designed by pioneers Aquaphysical.

Opportunities for all

No matter your age, gender or ability, Sport Aberdeen provides opportunities for everyone to be active. Across the city our Active Lifestyles and Active Schools teams have created a range of sessions, programmes and events.

We recently launched dementia and autism - friendly swimming sessions, and have partnered with the National Deaf Children’s Society to start delivering deaf–friendly swimming lessons.

Aberdeen Youth Games

The Aberdeen Youth Games aims to establish a citywide sports programme that promotes and increases physical activity and healthy lifestyle amongst Aberdeen's young people. This is achieved through partner organisations working together to place sports students within schools to deliver additional sport and coaching sessions to 3,500 primary school pupils each year.

The programme ends in the annual Aberdeen Youth Games where 1,000 primary school children participate in a one day festival of sport.

Looked after children

Sports and activities are provided to create equal opportunities for looked after children and young people in the City.

Social workers have commented on the positive impact that activities have had on the young people; specifically, the opportunities to spend free time productively at the activity and also the positive connections the programme helps build with the community, as well as enhancing individual self-confidence and self-worth.

Community Care

Integrating all communities to be active through initiatives with those in sheltered housing and care homes and partnership working with the Health and Social Care Partnership and the Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust.

Golf Aberdeen

Our esteemed 4 golf courses offer something for everyone, each enjoying their own distinct challenges against some of the finest backdrops in the North East of Scotland.

In Aberdeen,  you're never more than 10 minutes away from a Golf Aberdeen course.

A stunning 18-hole course situated in the heart of a local conservation area, Balnagask offers breathtaking views across the city and the North Sea coastline.

''I would like to say a big "thank you" to the staff at Balnagask for the excellent condition of the greens and fairways. It's one of the most underestimated courses in the North East!''

Bill Anderson, September 2016

The MacKenzie Championship Course

You may not make it to Augusta any time soon, but you can try your hand at the MacKenzie Championship Course in the heart of Aberdeen.

“Stepping on to the first tee of the MacKenzie I thought, this looks and feels like a stunning golf course.  18 holes later, my first impression was spot on!''

Owen Maguire, July 2016
